Hey everyone!
I'm really thrilled with all the new members we've gotten in the past few days. Valhalla's Fallen is becoming a great, active place to hang out. Let's keep that up XD
Staff positions will be announced later this week. Ranks will be given out at some point after that, although I still don't have an exact deadline, so feel free to apply for a position if you'd like one, it's not too late.
Now, on to the first order of business - halfwit and I were kicking around some ideas, and one that she brought up was a contest. From there, I thought it would be sort of cool to have a monthly contest - each month would be different, and the winner would get a prize.
This month will be an advertising contest, in honour of our grand opening and to push us further toward building a great community here. Info on the advertising contest can be found here..
The second order of business is monthlies! You know, all those character of the month, thread of the month, etc? You get to pick them!
Here's how it will work: You get to nominate right now. Nominate as many times or as few times as you wish. You can nominate by replying to this thread with your nominee and the category you're nominating it/them for.
On August 1st, we'll take the nominations we've gotten and the staffies will select the OTMs!
The categories are as follows:
Featured member
Featured thread
Featured post
Featured character
Featured couple
Featured affiliate
And lastly: I'd really appreciate if everybody could take the time once a day and click to vote for us at our listing sites. You can find the buttons in our affiliates bar at the bottom of the main page, and it only takes a moment. Just click, and then when the window opens, click "vote". You can vote once every 24 hours. These really do bring in members, and it would be awesome to see VF get the recognition it deserved by climbing to the top! Let's see if we can do it, eh?

Even though I've only been here a few days I can give a couple of votes for some members and characters. =P I read the members and characters.
Featured member: It's a tie between Madey and Rayn(Hatter and Wolfy in the C-box)
Featured character: Valkyrie; I like how developed she was and the detail that went into her bio. Though I haven't seen her in the threads yet I still liked her bio. =D

I would love to nominate Wren as Featured Member. Not only does she have a great personality (she's friendly, funny, smart -- I luff her), but her writing always captivates me. I'm jealous I can't write like her! (I'm jealous I can't draw like her either...)
I still need to get out into the website to truly know any of the characters, other users or the threads/posts, but I'll get there eventually. |

I'm biased, because I own the 'site, but I'd like to nominate The Shapeless as featured affiliate. I know it's not an actual affiliate yet, but I'm just waiting for graphics coordinator to make me a button and then I'm going to reconfirm it with Bassie.
EDIT
I have another proposition. Since reading an up and coming plot that Zel sent me, I'd like to nominate Gabriel and Taluri as featured couple. Bassie, I don't know if you've seen the plot I'm talking about, but those two have a long and complicated history. It's sweet (and sort of scary) how they made it through the difficulties.

I would probably vote for Madey's featured thread, simply because it's an interesting idea. I haven't actually read through it properly, but, you know. This is the one I'm talking about.
