[/color]The Details
Full Name: Persephone Pae
Preferred Name: Persephone hates her real name and prefers Skreleen. Skreleen is her own personal name for what she does as a story teller. Those who get her permission may call her Percy, but very few get this honor. Most go without ever knowing her given name.
Title: Eyrie Story Teller
(Although she is loyal to her clan, she does not limit herself entirely to their company. She will quite happily cruise the unclaimed lands and the edges of the Njal pack lands, looking for signs from the Gods and telling stories to those she finds.)
Age: Persephone is three years and four months old.
Gender: Female
Position
Pack: Eyrie/Loner
Rank: Shaman/Story Teller
Mate: None. She has an unspoken vow to never find love.
Offspring: None.
Mirror Mirror
Breed: Hudson Bay Wolf
Appearance:
In terms of body length, Persephone is twenty-six inches long and around twenty inches tall from the shoulder. She weighs fifty-eight pounds, which allows her to stay light on her feet, but also makes her quite lanky. She hopes to gain more weight as she grows older.
Due to her breed, Persephone's coat is thick and a light cream in colour. It darkens to a thick brown-yellow along her spine. This same yellow contributes to her eyebrows and her tail tip. Her face is a clear white, compared to the creaminess of the rest of her coat. Her nose is pink lined with black. Her eyes (the left is golden, the right a pale gray) are also lined with thick black.
Distinguishing marks include two small nicks out of her right ear, the result of a small skirmish in the Unclaimed Lands; a slight blindness in her right eye that she was born with; and a faded scar on her belly as the result of a hunt gone wrong.

Biography
Personality:
Those few that are close to Persephone know that she always means well, but she can come across as rude or sarcastic. She has a very independent nature, preferring to stay by herself on the outside of the pack rather than among those she is completely faithful to. Many tend to steer clear of her, though everyone has a strange fascination with the way she reads her surroundings and the 'messages' sent from the 'Gods'.
Because of her position in the pack, Persephone is very superstitious. She makes vows that are rather ridiculous or inappropriate.
Underneath her loner nature, she is a learned academic, almost as knowledgeable in herbs and medicine as any healer. She likes to study astrology and nature, along with other practical areas, such as navigation, tracking, prey migration and the lifestyle of various other creatures.
Traits:
Persephone's positive traits include her determination in her study, her wit, the loyalty she upholds for her clan, her understanding for all things natural and the talent and liquidity she has in telling her stories. Her negative personality traits include her need for independence (sometimes this even makes her antisocial), a seriousness that drive most away, her rude and sarcastic remarks, the lack of formality she shows towards those of the same ranking, the tendency to wander off/a short attention span for things she does not care about.
Strengths:
She is renown for her beautiful stories, her fluid movements when tracking small prey and birds, her knowledge about navigation/astrology/natural science and a keen nose for certain plant species.
Weaknesses:
Persephone has a strong dislike for fish of any kind. In fact, if there's water, she'd rather not be in it. She has a lack of knowledge about pack formations and the amazing love so many of the other females talk about. Males (and their parts) disgust her, as do puppies and anything that come with them.
Fears:
Becoming pregnant, water and crowds are all at the top of Persephone's list when it comes to fears. Others include enclosed spaces, snow, moths/ugly butterflies, bad news, barren landscapes and painfully bright light.
History:
Born as a barely breathing runt, Persephone was abandoned after just one day outside of the womb. She survived her first harsh week in the wild by crawling under a thin shrub and hiding from birds of prey and the few scavengers who ventured near. After her first month, she began venturing home, following the faint trail of wolf she could smell. That first journey was fueled by instinct and what she hoped was a sign from the Gods.
Once home, she was welcomed back begrudgingly. She was raised to become a hunter, but never found the lessons (or instincts) interesting or pronounced. Her mother (who, by this time, had disowned her) gave her personal permission for Persephone to leave, figuring that it would be easier for her.
Now, at one year old, Persephone ventured the borderline between the unclaimed territory and the Eyrie clan. She lived amongst the few others who wandered this close to the line, learning about the sky and the superstitions that her clan once believed in. She found an immense passion in these studies and moved away from both her new friends and her family, though still caring about them. With the weary permission of the Alphas, she began reciting the stories of her clan at two years old.
For a year after that, she traveled as far as she could, picking up signs about the surroundings and the facts of the world. She found a deep connection to the sky, even befriending some birds, just so that the heaven-sent message could "get to her better". Reading lightning and fires (from a distance) have become somewhat of a profession for her, drawing individuals from both clans (and even rogues) to see their future. Others also flock to her to hear stories and to listen to the music she howls towards the moon and her ancestors.
Survey
[/blockquote]How did you find us? You told me about the site, silly! Iwasam a member of Under New Skies.
Roleplay Example:
Under New Skies - Dappled Shade"Oh, dearest spring, how I've longed for you." Peach's sleepy voice mumbled. She stretched her front paws out luxuriously in the dappled shade with her rear rising high into the air. Her tail gave a satisfied flick, shooing a stray fly.
The little glade she currently resided in was popular with all sorts of creatures - both prey and predators. Luckily, she knew when someone was coming due to the crows circling like vultures over the flourishing treetops. Indeed, the meals were plentiful compared to what she'd eaten over winter, but the predators were vicious.
She had never truly believed anyone could be so dangerous, but she had met those wolves - the ones that had been banished from their packs for a purpose - and now she wished more than ever that she was back with her cosy family. As if her fear of ghosts was not enough - now she was terrified of her own species! She had doubted many times that she would never survive another season, yet she had.
Her muzzle dipping low to the small mirror-like pond, Ala drank. She sucked up the water daintily, her ears always rotating to catch any sound of an approaching attack.
A snapping twig and the shrill cry of a crow had her head raised within moments. Her nostrils flared, searching for a scent (any scent!), while she quickly backed herself up towards her 'sleeping tree'.
Many seasons of ghost-fearing had given her the strength and speed to climb trees, though rock-climbing was her natural skill. She could be in the top branches of a tree, balancing on the furthermost twigs, withing a minute. No other wolf she had met yet could climb that high, especially seeing as she gave herself a head-start, bouncing up into the lower boughs and facing the East from which the sounds had come from.
The hair along her spine had risen, her tail creeping between her legs ever so slowly.
The Shapeless - Enter SampleBeneath the dark canopy of the evergreens, Peach's footfalls were soft. Damp leaf litter silenced her steps, making the hunt more efficient. She could smell them in the air, bouncing like the innocent little creatures they were and panting as they chased each other in circles. Oh, they would not be expecting her today. Today she was at a meeting, explaining to the president why she needed more funding. No play today.
Get ready... HYAAH! With a terrific howl, she leaped from her hiding spot and onto the back of Brice, her Border Collie. The young dog collapsed underneath her weight and yelped, reaching out frantically for Fiona, his best friend.
Of course, it was just play. He understood that. The inviting smell of a bagel still clung to Peach's fur, making him pant hungrily. He had not eaten this morning.
Vigorously, Peach began licking the fur between Brice's ears. She considered this a fur-noogey. Her rough pink tongue brought the little strands of hair to stand on end and, once she was finished, she stepped off him to admire her work. It looked good. A Mohawk would suit Brice marvelously.
Fiona walked up beside Peach and nudged her affectionately. A silent agreement was passed between them and a quiet, whining hello. They both watched Brice stand up shakily - Fiona with her tail wagging and Peach with a wolfy smile of her face.
Trivia:
*Asexual, gay, whatever. Generally, she is not attracted to others, but when she is, they are always female. She likes that they are smaller, prettier, usually smarter. Being the main hunters, they smell more appealing to Persephone and they tend to find her music/stories wonderful, making them more abundant in her area.
*When she sings to the sky, her songs are based on life, the sky itself, nature and what she has foreseen. Her howls are melodic and lilting, drifting between notes effortlessly. Whereas others howl to communicate with other living beasts, she howls to display emotion, sing and communicate with the Gods.
*As her main inspirations come from above, Persephone has many bird friends. She particularly enjoys to company of owls, eagles and sparrows and, when she is feeling more somber, ravens.
*As previously mentioned, her performances attract crowds. She will perform every full moon in open spaces. None of these performances are planned, so most happen upon them by mistake. Private displays are held at her den, but they are more often than not for her own personal pleasure. The only beasts who have attended a private concert of hers thus far are the Eyrie alphas and a few of her closest friends.
