If you’ve got a question not covered here, ask a staff member. Things will be added to this list as issues arise. Major changes to the list will be made as announcements, however small things will be added without a lot of fuss, so please keep yourself familiar with these, eh?

General Conduct;;[/u]
1. Being respectful is one of the most important rules here. If you're having a problem with another player and cannot settle the dispute quietly, I ask that you take the issue to PM's or to a staff member.
If you have a ranking character, you still have to respect staff. If you're told to do something by a staffy, you will be expected to do it without arguing. If you feel that the said staffy is being unfair to you, report the issue to another.
Note: Any staff member found abusing their powers will be issued a warning. If it continues, further action may be taken, so let's play nice.
2. Be mature. If someone's character dislikes yours for whatever reason, do not take it as a personal attack. If a character's beliefs differ from your own - again - do not take it as a personal attack. As previously stated, just be respectful. Remember, this is a game.
3. No spamming. This won't be tolerated in any form. On that note, keep OOC replies in the same post as IC replies. It keeps threads cleaner and makes our jobs much easier. There are chat areas if you just want to hang out and chitter among your friends.
4. Don’t start political, religious, controversial topic or lifestyle arguments. This is a RP site. This doesn’t mean you can’t discuss these things, as long as it is done in a light, friendly manner. Try to stay away from things you know people might argue about, and respect other people’s views. Anyone found trying to deliberately start an argument will be warned, then banned. Again, use discretion. Also, don't discuss these things in the c-box. Make a thread, or take it to PM's.
5. Anyone found to be breaking the Proboards ToS will be punished accordingly. This includes the age restrictions – you must be over 13 or have a parent okay you to go on any Proboards site, including VF.
In short, just be nice to other players. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you, remember that. It pays off to be cool about things, so don't get over-heated and blow a gasket if things don't go your way.
6. You may have as many characters as you can keep up with.
7. You only need one account, no matter how many characters you have. Multiple accounts is confusing, and gives the site a false number of members. If you want to know which characters are played by which account, check out the Player/Character thread.
In Character;;[/u]
1. Minimum post length is 300 words. You don’t have to meet the minimum every single time you post, but you are encouraged to do so, and if you are found to be missing the 300 mark too often, Valhalla's Fallen may not be the right place for you. If you’re having trouble, check out our section for posting skills and muse help. Post word count does not include song lyrics or things of that nature.
2. Things like god-moding, power playing and Sue-like characters will not be tolerated at all. If these offenses are repeated, you may be punished accordingly. Keep in mind that respect thing we talked about earlier and everything should go swimmingly.
3. Alphas have the last word of what happens in the pack. If they decide to kick your character out of the pack or punish them for stepping out of line, do not complain about it. The alphas, in character, have every right to run their pack to their preference, provided they keep the canon of the pack itself.
4. Absolutely no chatspeak in character. At all. Ever.
5. Posts must be literate – do not over use Wolfspeak. (i.e. The proud femmina poses 'pon symmetrical pillions, her arrogant hide ginger of chroma... tawny opticons flareing with amore and flutes pricked atop her robust physique.) Wolfspeak is like a spice. A sprinkling is fine, if that suits your taste. But heap it on and no one can swallow that.
NOTE: Anyone found doing this will be asked to stop. If you do not, you will be banned.
6. When posting in a group, try to maintain a posting order. If someone is gone for an extended period of time or gives you permission otherwise, you may skip them - try to give them at least 3 days prior. If it’s your turn in a group thread, try not to slow the thread down much. The exception is pack threads – if it is someone’s turn for two full days (48 hours or more) and they don’t respond in a pack meeting or hunt, they may be skipped. In crowded threads it may be helpful to include who each of your characters is interacting with and waiting for as an out of character note at the beginning of each post you make.
7. If you are hunting, make sure you look to see what prey are available in that territory. Prey are not available in every territory, and there are different kinds of prey in different places. Also, please remember that a single wolf cannot bring down something the size of an elk alone without risking serious injury to itself. Packs, people, packs!
Fighting, Breeding, and Birthing;;[/u]
Fighting;;[/u]
1. Fighting can happen anywhere at any time for any reason. Fights that are just for fun or for training will not be judged. Challenges are encouraged to take place in the unclaimed lands.
2. Each official fight requires three posts each once the staff member has announced the fight begins, it starts with the first attack. You are allowed one attack or dodge per post, three attacks max and one dodge max. You must notify a staff member before you begin the fight.
3. A staff member will judge the fight using a fair rubric that goes over all matters of the fight – not just the fight itself. That means you’ll be judged on how your character fights as well as how well you post. After 3 posts each, the staff will declare a winner. You will each need to post at least once more to ‘finish things up’, though you may draw it out as long as you like, the staff decision is final. If you and the person you are fighting agreed on a winner beforehand, PM Bassie (admin) with that info beforehand.
4. If a leader is challenged and wins they have immunity until the next season to make things fair. Conversely, if they lose, the same immunity is optional based on the judgment of the player.
5. Graphic fight scenes are allowed, but please but an 'M' in the topic title. Not everyone wants to mistakenly read a slasher in place of some good action, so keep that in mind when making your fight thread.
Breeding/Mates/Pups;;[/u]
1. Your character MUST remain pregnant for 10 OOC days. During this time a staff member will PM you telling you how many pups will be born. (This is decided by dice roll!) After that, you and your mate can decide gender, what they look like, names, personalities, etc. Once they are born, extras may be given up for adoption. If no one adopts them, the parents may choose to play them or kill them off.
2. Breeding must take place between a male and a female.
Note: If your character is gay, that's perfectly fine, but same-sex breeding is rather hard to pull off in nature. This being the case, should you and the user behind your wolf's mate decide they should have pups, a surrogate NPC will be required and decided by a staff member. Same pregnancy rules apply here.
3. Forced breeding is permitted, but only under the condition that the other player is okay with this as well. If the players decide this results in pregnancy, pups are decided by dice just as with a normal pregnancy, all other breeding rules apply as well.
4. You may not have a main character that is a pup unless your purchase this ability in the Karma Shop.
5. Breeding may only occur when breeding is turned on. Check the season box to the left of the site.
Colours and Species;;[/u]
This roleplay takes place in a fictional landscape, so naturally any breed of wolf is allowed provided they hail from the proper climate. For example; an arctic wolf from the desert or an Arabic wolf from the frozen wasteland are no-no's. This kind of thing just couldn't happen without dire effects on the wolf.
Bans involving breed, color and specialties like extra tails or missing limbs are not to be disputed. Some of these will be available for limited times, in limited quantities, in the Karma Shop.
Bear in mind also that this is a more realistic fantasy wolf roleplay than most. Strange abilities and deities may be coming down the road (WHAT THAT'S NOT A SPOILER) but at the moment, only realistic coats are permitted. Bizarre colors like blue or pink are not allowed, nor are things such as wings or powers. Jewelry and markings may be available in the Karma Shop.
EXCEPTION: Wolves may have strangely colored eyes if you wish.
When the shop finally opens, many things will be available for purchase with the Karma Points that you earn by posting and being active in IC threads. Spamming for this will not be tolerated and can result in an immediate ban.
NOTES: This site is set to begin as more realistic and slowly change over to more fantasy as the plot progresses. Many cool things are on the way, but you just have to wait and see... and guess at them... for now. All will be revealed in time! Please enjoy yourself here at VF.
