T-u.l.a.r-i She had fire in her soul It was easy to see How the devil himself could be pulled out of me There were drums in the air As she started to dance Every soul in the room keeping time with their hand.
----- ooc; please note that this role-play takes place before Gabe and Tulari got their positions and joined their respective packs. Zel and I thought this could potentially spice things up later if they were to meet again in their respective positions.[... Her pads were worn and sore feeling. She limped lightly on them as she trekked across the uneven ground. What the fae wouldn't have given for a fish right now, that slimy, succulent and tasty flesh. She sighed softly, her tongue out of her mouth as she panted. It was times like this when her black and brown mottled pelt was more of a hindrance than a bonus. Her black tail was uncharacteristically hanging down, she heaved a huge sigh. Tulari wasn't' sure how long she had been walking, but it seemed like forever the four year old's mind. She wasn't used to long treks despite her galloping everywhere around her old home territory. This new terrain was a terror on her feet as she lifted them up and licked them tenderly. She finally lifted her head and looked around her -- and Tulari couldn't help but gasp with shock.
She was in a location that had beautiful unparalleled to anything her golden eyes had ever seen. In front of her was a tree so tall and old, that even with craining her head back, she couldn't see the top. Her golden eyes widened and her nose twitched suddenly at a smell. Her head tilted towards the ground and she inhaled in short bursts, analyzing and collecting as much data as her nose could. She could smell a great many things on this ground -- two distinctive pack scents, and then there was also the smell of ages old blood that had soaked the soil. Her hackles rose on her back and her tail shot straight up into the air and a growl rippled through her snout as she smelled something alien to her senses on the wind. A wild gust of wine suddenly whipper up as if out of no where and Tulari fled a few meters away from the strange spot -- every strand of fur on her body was staining upright and her tail pointed towards the sky like a spear.
There was a strangeness about this land that defied everything Tulari had ever learned from her parents. She had grown up knowing about the Gods, but worshiping them was just something her Pakc had never done, and there were many things Tulari didn't believe in, the Gods was just one of them. The naive young wolf shivered and huddled close to the ground, her ears pinned down as she coward like a six week old puppy. There was something by this tree that made her feel both warm and freezing. Tulari had a moment of panic when she felt close to being under that freezing river once more. She whined loudly like a young puppy before bolting with her tail tucked betwixt her legs. She had to pull to a stop just as soon as she started for she heard rustling in the bushes and a flash of something. Her lips curled back, but she was utterly fearful -- what if it was one of the Gods?! ...] -----

A zephyr blew pleasantly right at that moment. The sun streamed down and warmed the shoulders of a large wolf lounging in the shade of a bush. The beast of a predator yawned and every one of his teeth showed. Pearly white and made for cutting and tearing into flesh. Either of prey or of an enemy. The regal creature lowered his head to his paws and gave a sigh. Peace had over come him since he stepped onto the lands. Warriors were usually welcome on the lands of the Gods, or they welcomed who ever they pleased. A weary traveller was no threat to them and their tree. The warrior believed in the Gods but he also knew that they had chosen to be silent watchers over Their children instead of interfearing with the wolf's personal agenda. That suited Gabriel just fine. He could lay under the Tree if he wanted too.
He'd rolled to his side just as a stronger wind blew a scent towards him. "Huh?" he rose from his laid back position and tucked his hind legs underneath him, ready to rise quickly if he needed too. Though he peered through the trees to watch the interesting scene play out before him. "Who'sat?"
He snickered as he watched the wolfess in front of him. Ok so maybe Gabriel had had a similar reaction. He smelt the pack wolves, the old blood, and felt the presence of some other that he could not explain. Though he did not have such a strong reaction to the old tree after he relaxed and told the Gods he was just a weary being in need of a place to rest for awhile he'd felt a sense of peace. Though the tree smelt of blood there was no fresh blood around. He felt that death here was not welcome and the committer of the crime would earn a similar fate, he would keep his jaws and claws to himself. Though his own maw was stained with old blood from a scavenged old deer carcuss. Needless to say though the large brute was handsome his coat did not shine as it once did in a pack environment and his body was thinner than it once was.
Though he hurridly began to lick his chops. If he was about to meet someone, especially a female if the wind told him right he did not want to meet her with blood on his teeth. She seemed spooked already and Gabreil was either blessed or cursed with a large bulky body. Go figure. Just as he began to stand the female tucked her tail and ran. Gabe cocked his head to the side and blinked slowly trying to adjust to what just happened. He padded slowly after her in the shelter of the bushes. Why he followed her? Well Gabriel preffered company of his fellow beings. He enjoyed wolf company and longed for pack life, meeting a new wolf would be fine with him. He had not in a long time.
Crouching so he could lower himself and appear smaller than he was he moved the bushes slightly. The female turned and snarled feircely just as his scarred, and slightly clean, muzzle appeared. He emerged slowly from the foilage and tried to make his face appear pleasant with a wolfis grin, dispite his earn torn and a large scar across his muzzle. "Easy, hun! I'm a friend. Seems to me if blood is spilt on these lands we'll have to atone for the crime."
He kept his tones light and friendly. Gabriel, in another action to show the female he was only a friend plopped his butt to the ground and scratched his ear. Plus sitting made him look smaller. He did not want to fight someone today. He'd had to fight off a ugly brute the other day. Some times being big was not always better. He stopped his scratching gave a few wags of his tail and grinned again, "my name is Gabriel, I know it's angelice but I promise I'm all wolf." Some how he doubted he all his efforts would make the fae calm down totally but at least she might direct her fears at him and start talking eventually it would lead to both of them calm and not spooked by a mystical tree.

----- [... Tulari's lips curled up in the snarl as her throat rumbled to life. Despite the fact that she had an utterly pathetic howl -- the black and brown fae could growl like thunder. She was doing so now before a snout appeared and a normal (if large) looking wolf appeared from behind the bushes. Instantly the sound cut off, her lips dropped and her ears perked forwards. In her surprise, she'd also scrambled backwards, attempting to get out of his way as she watched him. She could smell deer's blood on his slightly clean muzzle and her stomach rumbled softly, reminding her that the last thing she'd eaten was a small rabbit at dawn. She perked her ads when she heard the brute speak, she sat down as he did and looked at him.
He had lovely coloration, and was absolutely handsome, despite his facial scars. She felt easy in his presence, as if this big wolf could protect her from that unnatural force she had felt earlier. She grinned and lolled her tongue as he scratched his ear and then wagged his tail. As he introduced himself, she nodded, but couldn't help but feel a prickle along her spine when he mentioned that his name was Angelic. She shivered, not liking this supernatural force that her clever mind could not understand. She was still uneasy about the large tree and turned to look at it, her skin rippling as she felt like somethink might be watching. She looked at Gabe before swallowing, "T-Tulari." She spoke hesitantly, and then cleared her throat a bit.
"Do you know what tree that is?" she asked softly, indicating the large tree. Just looking at it made her hackles rise again in confusion. She felt both comforted and wary, and horrible confused. She did not understand these spirits! They frightened her, she edged towards Gabe as if he could protect her from things unseen. She shivered. Even though she was four, and at nearly the beginning of her prime, this unknown thing made her feel like a puppy. She wanted to be gone of this location as soon as she possibly could. ...] -----

T-Tulari." She spoke hesitantly, and then cleared her throat a bit. "Do you know what tree that is?"
'She's just nervous, she's just nervous, she's just nervous!' Gabriel repeated over and over in his head as the brown and black fae moved closer to him. He had to admit she was a pretty little wolf. Though he was not in the habit of going after every pretty face that presented theirselves to him. Not even for a one time thing. He was just not that kind of male. Yet she seemed frightened and he felt his protective spirit come out. Sometimes it was a curse sometimes it was a blessing. In this time he felt that it was a blessing. He could at least do something to stop her fear. He thought for a minute and had an idea.
Did he know the name of the tree, not really but he felt the Tulari's unease and need to understand the tree. He grinned at here and gave a quick wag of his tail, "Er, no, I don't know what that tree is. But I feel what you do. Weird, huh?
Seems to be a place for the Gods though. Special in a way. I wonder . . . ." he pondered more to himself than the fae. He began to walk towards the tree again, though he stopped before the brown and black female and wagged his tail, letting it brush against her comfortingly. It was the least he could do. "Come on, if it's a place for the Gods, so let's go pray to the Gods. They might listen better if we do it here."
He spoke gently and softly offering even more comfort. If he showed her that respecting the Gods was better than cowering before them maybe she would calm down some. He padded happily forward and grinned over his shoulder at her. Another zephyr blew, this time almost like it was beckoning the pair towards the tree. He sat down before a gnarled root and placed a paw on it. Odd the tree felt warm to his touch. The warmth soothed his paws. His heart thumped lightly in his chest. Ok maybe he was a little freaked out too, but he did not let it show. He could not, not if front of Tulari if he was here trying to show her the tree was just a place of peace. Speaking of Tulari, he turned his muzzle towards the fae and grinned. He flicked his head in a 'come on' motion and waited for her. He closed his eyes and lowered his head. He'd feel the warmth of the fae when she came next to him.

----- ooc; sorry about the shortness. D: [... It didn't put Tulari at ease that the other wolf didn't know what the tree was called, but he seemed to know what the tree's properties were, and that did ease the black and brown wolf. "Yeah…" and then she shook her pelt. She grinned at him before he continued to speak. She tilted her head slowly before he got up and started to walk towards the tree. Her head tilted more to the side, "The Gods? Surely you don't think that they exist, right?" Tulari asked with surprise and a hint of fear. Of course the gods were dead, hadn't they left the wolves alone for far too long -- allowed this ground to be blood soaked with varg blood?
"Pray?" Tulari asked, surprised, "Why would they-- she paused as that erie wind picked up again and blew her fur towards the strange Tree. She blinked several times and shrank down in fear once more. She didn't like these strange happenings. She let out a whine as Gabe moved forwards and then grinned over his shoulder at her. Tu whimpered again, indecisive. It wasn't until he gave her the 'come on' motion that she slinked over. She hesitated for a few more seconds before brushing up against his side and lifting up her paw and following Gabe's example and setting it on the tree root. Warmth flooded her in seconds, and she felt itchy in her skin. She leaned more against the tree and Gabe, her head bowed suddenly and she thought to the tree, I want to be alphas, I want to stop this bloodshed that has soaked your ground. ...] -----

'Poor dear,' Gabriel could not help but think. He cracked open an eye and out of no where gave her a gentle lick on the top of her head as he copied her movements. It was no problem since he stood a head taller than her. 'WHOA! You just met this fey Gabe what are you doing! Don't, don't freak her out by that!'
"Erhm," he coughed and looked the other way while she copied his movements, "yes I do believe in the Gods, how can you explain this vast world. Though I believe that the Gods are detached from the world and are content with just being silent watchers over their world."
He trailed off and closed his eyes as she did to pray, 'I pray . . .' what did he want more than anything. He let the warmth of the tree reach him and he felt his nose raise to the air in a silent howl, 'I pray that I be happy and strong no matter what. I pray that I can over come any feat you throw at me. I pray for a challenge my Gods, help me grow, help me be the perfect warrior in your eyes.'
The large brute lowered his maw and head in a bow. He felt almost breathless and opened his own golden eyes. This was an odd moment to be sharing with this female and some how that did not feel strange at all. In face he was glad he was sharing it with her. "Tulari, did you feel that? That was amazing," he breathed.
Even though he removed his paw from the tree he still felt the warmness of it. He felt exhilirated like the power of the Warrior God came into his heart. Ready to guide him and challenge him all in one, a friend and powerful teacher. He felt a shiver go through him and he looked at the female beside him wondering what she was thinking of all this.

----- ooc; sorry about the shortness. D: [... Tulari froze suddenly when he licked the top of her head. She turned to glare at him for a few seconds, Males! she thought arrogantly before remembering the strange warmth from the root. She had to hide a smile as he coughed at his own mistake. Tu wasn't really mad about it -- she just like some warning next time. Her ear cocked towards him as he spoke of believing in the gods. Tulari studied him, "But… if one never sees them, how do you prove that they're there?" she asked in befuddlement. After her own pray was thought, she looked over at Gabe and studied him with her golden orbs. she wondered what he could be praying for, her ears perked and then she yelped a bit when something strange filled her. It hadn't hurt -- just surprised the fae.
Her hackles were back up again, "Yes. Sure it was." She retorted stiffly, and the playful wind ruffled her pelt and she glared at … the air. And then her gaze went back to the tree and she glare at the tree as if IT was what had caused the strangeness to occur. She shuffled backwards from the root and looked at Gabe. She was envious that he was so completely calm about all of this. What must he think of her? Some weak-minded fea who was scared at the smallest thing? What next, would some random fog form the shape of a wolf and speak with them? Tulari glanced around carefully before snorting.
Superstitious nonsense! she thought to herself and looked at Gabe. There was something about him that the fae couldn't put a finger on. She lolled her tongue at him and her tail wagged gently from side to side. He was big, but… not a scary big. Tulari watched him before her stomach rumbled loudly. Her ears pulled back as she looked away from Gabe. ...]

This tree, this powerful guardian of the forest was at least one of the reasons that the Gods exsited. One could walk in these forests and know that this mighty face was watching you. Wondering what you were doing here, and like a guardian send challenges your way. Though by the smells around and near the tree this place was not unfriendly to wolves, another reason he figured that it could only be the work of the Gods. Gabriel grinned to himself proof enough. He did not know the wolfess next to him well enough to laugh and say, well I'm not the wolf who's freaking out. Instead he shrugged a big shoulder and moved away from the tree.
Gabriel studied the she wolf in front of him. She was small, but not without muscle, she had to be fast. Hmm, maybe she could stick aroud for a while?, he thought to himself, two wolves hunting was damn better than one. He dropped his front paws in a universal sign of a good streach. He came forward a bit his big body pulling out all sorts of cricks and knots in his back. Then stood in a wolfishly fast move and shook his pelt as if he was shaking water off. It was stall, maybe he was showing off his muscle, and he had plently, or maybe he was just using it to think of how in the world he was going to get the fae to stay with him a while. Especially when it seemed like she was still a little spooked at the supernatrual beings. Though he was glad to see that fear was becoming anger, she was brave dispite her fears.
Gabe wagged his tail back and turned his head to the side. He was about to ask and then her stomach growled. Perfect they could go hunting. There was a patch of forest not far from the tree food could be plentiful. Though he had to tease her just a little. He suddenly made his face become very serious. "Hmmm?" he seemed to ponder as he padded closer to Tulari. Keeping personal boundaries he did a quick circle around, 'nice tail' he kept the male thought to himself and kept his face serious. He was glad she was pretty, he'd had UGLY wolves travel with him before and when they took his kindess for him chosing them for mates, inwardly he cringed but he came to face her. "You M'lady are fast. Correct?"
The seriousness melted away from his face and he grinned happily. "If you can help me single out a sick deer or whatever prey is in this area and do the chasing? I'll ambush it and then we'll have us a feast! Anyways a hungry wolf is a deadly wolf." It was an anphorism of his sisters, when he was so depressed after his families deaths he did not want to eat she finally coaxed him out of his lethargic and pitiful state and he was able to become the strong warrior he was now. Though all it was up to now what the lovely fae in front of him if they were to go hunting or not, her stomach was probably going to choose the hunting part. Gabriel just kept his face pleasant and tail wagging, he was friendly not big and scary and he was happy that this female decided not to challege him. Instead he could feel that this was going to be an OK friendship at worst and good friends at best. Worry about future later, Gabe, he thought to himself, right now let's get some food, the lady is starving.

----- ooc; sorry about the shortness. D: [... Tulari could feel Gabe staring at her and she frowned -- more than a little worried given their size differences. An unsavory thought passed through her mind as she looked at Gabe -- what if he was one of those crazy loner wolves her parents had warned her about as a puppy? What if he want -- she gulped a little before flicking her ads back flat against her skull. However, that thought passed from her mind several seconds later when he stretched his forelegs and then his back. Tulari grinned at his antics and felt relaxed despite the weirdness of the tree behind her that STILL made her back prickle with fear. But ignoring it, she rolled her eyes males. she thought and then smiled wolfishly at him.
And then she stopped as became closer and made a sound. Her ears flickered back uncertainly before she lowered her head - ready for anything. She watched him the entire way around warily, why was he circling her? Was he sizing her up for a meal? Something more? Tulari's tail lay flat against the ground, like her ears before faced her once more. He inquired as to if she was fast. Tulari was caught off guard, "Of course I am!" her voice was tinged with indignation as she looked at him. She looked puzzled as his face relaxed and he grinned at her. Had she ever met such a confusing wolf? Not likely -- but he intrigued her, she had to admit.
When he actually voiced his plan, her ears shot straight up, and her mouth watered at the thought of deer meat, she had survived this far on mice and rabbits and other unsavory things (she'd had little luck catching her favorite prey). But to eat deer again… Tulari licked her lips and nodded her head. "Just don't be late to pounce~" She laughed at him and then lolled her tongue easily. Her stomach rumbled once more. "So tell me, Gabe, when do we start?" ...]

ooc. NP "Just don't be late to pounce~" She laughed at him and then lolled her tongue easily. "So tell me, Gabe, when do we start?"
Gabriel felt a laugh start up at her indignant cry. He knew this wolf was fast, her lean legs and small frame suggested so. She was a fine huntress, he bet she could catch small rodents easily. Probably better than he and his large body ever could. Though with her enthusiasm he was all but rolling with laughter. It was warm hearted laughter, with deep, pleasant rumble behind it. The kind two friends share. His ears were even thrown back and his face was extremely cheery.
He, like any predator, savored the taste of fresh big game as well. Though with two wolves they needed to find either a retarded deer or a sick one . . . ok who was he kidding, they needed to find a stupid, dee dee dee deer that was sick AND a a broken bone. Still would taste the same, maybe. Even it would take a couple weeks to bring the large beast down. Either they would catch it or they would have to settle for some other type of game.
He wiped his eyes and then realized something that made a warmth come to his eyes and given his giddiness that made him feel like a puppy himself he just opened his mouth and the words flowed out, "nobeast has called me Gabe since my family's death and my sister, her mate, and I were seperated."
Realizing in one sentence he'd spilled something that had once been kept to himself he lowered his ears though he kept his face cheery and turned the subject back towards the hunt to distract her. "Ari," he liked the sound of that nickname for her, "hun, we're going now . . . . and I promise I'm never too late to pounce." he smirked.
With that said he leaped happily to her side and leaped forward, his ears back and tail simi tucked with the tail tip out, a sign of a happy wolf having a fun time with good company. He had a pleasant and graciful gait. He did not push himself into a run, he'd loose all energy to put into the hunt. Especially since they were going after big game. Speaking of Gabe then thought to tell her that it may take awhile between two wolves unless the deer was a serious dee dee dee and killed itself for them. His right claw gripped the earth and his back paws slid to the side in a drift before he met the bushes. He barked at her, "You know it might take a while before we can get the deer. If you don't mind spending the company with me in a couple weeks we should have it and enjoy our triumphant catch."
There he turned his head to the side and his black tiped tail wagged happily, waiting for her to come and catch some deer. Though he sensed her unease at his intentions. He hoped another wolf had not frightened her, still he'd let the choice be hers. Food may be her drive but she could change her mind. Wolves, even himself, were simple beasts, if they felt the slightest unease only two instincts came to play, fight or flight. So he'd leave the option open for her to leave. He would not stop her at all. Besides Gabriel loved the company of others it would not bother him at all if she came. His own puppy enthusiasm, he blamed it on the spiritual happening shared between him and Tulari, making it where he felt he could take on the world. Bring on the deer. He sent another silent prayer that they could find a retarded, deaf, deer with a broken leg.
