Appearance;;
One word can be used to describe Gabriel and that's big. He's a very large wolf. Starting from his large paws and going to his defined muscles. His proportions are off meaning his front two paws are slightly larger than his back two paws. His claws on his front paws are curved for digging into his prey or enemy and tearing fur and flesh. He maybe big but what he makes up in bulk he lacks in speed. On the battle field he is a treasure and able to run out into the field and attack two wolves head on, but he'd never be able to catch up to a wolf in a head on chase. His body was made more like a truck than a sports car. He's big and powerful and can throw his weight around but he'd definitely be last in a race.
Ok so maybe there's another word that can describe Gabriel. He's handsome. He'd deny it for he knows that he'd be the second choice compared to the lush black pelted wolves and the luxurious white pelted wolves. He's just not that lucky in picking mates. Though he used to not know why, for when he looked in the reflection of water he can see a wolf face. His eyes are a neutral brown and in the sun they shine amber. His muzzle has a large scar that runs across it and his right ear is torn. That's why he thinks he'd be last choice for a mate being big tends to make other wolves want to challenge you, having a mate tends to make other wolves want to challenge you as well. It's a lose-lose situation. Still with a handsome face and gentle eyes, he's not hard on the eyes.
His fur is another thing that makes him feel unattractive. As a whelp when his colors started showing he was described as a stone picked up from the snow. His fur looks that way too. His legs to his belly and under his chin are crystalline white, then the fur seems to turn into gray and the is flecked with black. His face has a gray mask and his chest has a gray ring of fur. Once also described to him what that the black tip of his tail was cute. Still the colors of his are average colors of a timber wolf, and he likes to remind wolves of that.
Picture;; Mr. Gabriel =)
Wear your heart on your sleeve...
Personality;;
Good:
He's fine, there's nothing wrong, and he'll deal with it. A few phrases that Gabriel uses. He's not a wolf that puts his emotions out there. That may have to be with him being a male but it also may have to deal with out Gabriel tries to make himself seem smaller. He's been called a Stone many times. There's this wall that he has a defense. It makes him seem unreadable and hard hearted when underneath that stone beats a soft and caring heart. Though you have to get underneath that thick wall to really see the wolf that Gabe is.
He's not going to let his pack fall. He is the wolf that is right in the battle field with his pack fighting and trying to keep them all safe. He is a protector of his pack. He's willing to die for their honor above all else. He's got a thick skin so the taunts of other's do not bother him. Power and determination come with this trait of his. He'll be out there digging dens for the pregnant wolves or he'll be out there running the borders, leading hunts, and tracking down enemy wolves. He's hardworking and tough, he likes to think he can go for weeks with out rest or relaxation, if there's hard work to be done, there is no time for rest.
Secret. He's a sweet wolf to pups and females. Ok he denies that he likes pups but he can be caught playing with them and sometimes letting them get into trouble. With females he's a big softie as well if a she-wolf needs something done that they can't do he will step right up and take all of the hard work. Though he's not one to underestimate a wolf, they are wolves there should be no weaknesses. Whiny or weak females tend to get on his nerves. No pack wolf who needs help will have to suffer hard labor while he's around. He also likes to treat the elders with as much respect as he can. They tell the stories of the past and they keep the past alive. That is how Gabriel sees the pack should be run.
Bad:
If you tell him no, he's going to do it anyways. Either behind your back or right in front of your face. He can and will do it, even if it means an injury to himself. Actually more than likely he's going to be the one to end up getting hurt because he decided it was good idea to push the dead tree over and make a shelter. If you want him to stay out of pack business he's going to find a way to listen in on what needs to be done and will try to do it by himself before the others have a chance to get a group together to do it. As alpha he'd be the one taking a note of things that needed to be done and he will get them done before the night has fallen.
If there is an ugly wolf he's going to be the one to point it out. It's a TERRIBLE flaw. He can't seem to keep his mouth shut about things that are odd. Even if a wolf has a crooked paw or a missing eye or, ew, mange, he's going to point it out even in front of the wolf. If he sees something going on that doesn't seem fair to him he's going to put his two cents in whether it's wanted or not and damned be the consequences. His way goes and if a wolf has a problem with it they can take it up with him. He's bigger and though not known to attack without reason his temper sometimes does get the best of him.
If he loses his temper it's lost and he's looking for blood to be spilled. Usually this means he going to go hunt until all of his frustration is out or he's going to attack the beast who attacked him. He can keep a good control of his temper and it takes a lot for him to lose it but like stated, if it's gone it's gone and other wolves should look out for he's in a berserker rage and will rip throats out. Some have even called this part of his personality Stone. For when he's like this, he doesn't snarl curses or bite out talk, he's deadly quiet. Many times has a wolf mistaken that as his submitting to them, then they are thrown into a tree. It's always the silent wolf that will kill you.
Traits;;
Good: Introverted, hardworking, tough, has leader qualities, and sweet
Bad: Hardheaded, judgmental, aggressive, and temperamental
Strengths;; Fighting, bringing down large prey, heavy lifting, keeping fights within the pack from becoming bloodshed, and making sure the pack is safe.
Weaknesses;; He's not fast, without a pack he'd have a hard time surviving on his own, the wall he puts up, he doesn't listen, and he can't run at high speed very well, he usually ends up tripping over his own two feet. He's a control freak.
Fears;; Being alone for the rest of his life, losing his pack, and losing control.
History;; (--!GRAPHIC HISTORY!--)
The beginning.
The young mother howled for her mate. Her stomach swollen with her litter. Her mate had left to find food for his mate. The daughter of the Alphas, she was expected to bring them the next Alphess. Though her mate, her mate was nothing but a hunter. In the pack her mate was to be chosen for her, their love was forbidden. So she and her mate ran away with no worries, none except finding a new pack that would take them. Of course not many will accept a pregnant she-wolf and her mate. They'd been fairing on their own. She was due anytime. Finally her mate, a large brute, larger than any she had seen in her pack. His face was handsome enough and her heart leaped with joy and she bounded up to him and the carcass of a rabbit he held. They would live another day.
He dropped the meat and she licked the blood of his maw her stomach growled pleasantly. Then the pain happened and she knew it was time. She looked at her mate and whined an apology, he knew he was not to see this. Males, as she was raised, were not to see the birth of their young, Phallen was no exception. She made it to the dens just in time and her mate stood as guard and tried not to react to the pained noises and puppy whimpers coming from their den.
"Phallen?" she called wearily, it had been a day and a night and she was ready for him to enter.
"Yes, Myreil?" his voice was steady though he lowered his ears carefully last time she thought she was done she about snapped his nose off.
"Phallen, dear, this time I'm done."
He gulped and entered the den. There his pups were laid out. Only two though and he looked carefully around the den. His nose was telling him that there were three that had not made it from the womb. His heart sank. Three pups that would be without life and the chance of one out of the two surviving would be hard enough. He whimpered and Myreil touched her maw to his. "Don't fret, love. Things like this happens, count the blessings that these two will go on. They will be strong warriors like you and I."
He sniffed the other two pups gently and sighed. His mate was right of course and it warmed his heart. He smelled a boy and a girl. "Have you named them?"
"I have named them both," she looked at him and lowered her ears hoping her mate would approve of her choices, "the little male shall be Gabriel, and his sister shall be Jena. I tried to derive their names from ours."
Phallen yipped happily at his mates sheepish voice and nuzzled her, "beautiful, if left to me I would have called them Stone and Blue. I'm not as imaginative as you my Queen."
"Yes beloved, now these two are feeding, will you take and bury the dead? They shall be given back to the Earth," she made it sound as if it was a ritual. Phallen obliged happily and taken the dead pups and buried them far from his precious mate and young.
The Happening
"GABERIEL! SLOW YOUR TAIL DOWN? DO YOU HEAR ME!" Myreil's voice was sharp but in the end it was no use, Gabriel tripped and ran smack into a tree, with a yelp. His mother caught up to him just in time to see if he was alright. "Do you have nothing but rocks between your ears? You want to hunt something, hunt rabbits and other prey that doesn't climb trees."
So he was a year old and when he stood he towered over his mother. They were going hunting. Well the pack was at least. They were a small pack of just his family and another family that had joined them. His father was Alpha and his mother Alphess. His sister had found a mate and left the pack. She came to visit some times but at his age he should have left the pack as well. Actually he knew how to hunt but his mother was getting older and he thought a quick bite before they left would help her.
"Gabe, son, are you serious?" his father came around a tree. He was a big wolf as well. When Gabriel finished growing he would be just as big, if not bigger. He had his mother's fighting spirit and his father's size, it was a healthy combination that allowed him to be all wolf, if not scary on his own two feet.
"I was trying to catch Mom a snack, the squirrel decided to climb the tree and I tripped," he said in a huff and rubbed his sore nose. Finally he just stuck it in the snow. At least that would numb it. Ok so he was a hunter. He knew how to hunt, but his paws that were too big for his body left him a little unstable on his feet, actually a lot unstable.
"Come son, we are hunting now, try not to loose the elk this time," his father growled.
The formation was simple and Gabriel waiting happily aware of his position. He was to help his father deliver the final blow. Being the biggest wolves in the pack they would be able to drag the prey down, hold it and snuff out his life. He twitched with excitement and his father watched proudly. Through all the training Gabriel was finally able to hold his own against anyone in the pack. He knew how to fight and when he was really focused he would come up with battle formations that were full proof. Phallen's son would be an Alpha in someone's pack or a Beta, the old Alpha knew it. His heart swelled with pride.
The hunting cry turned the two identical wolves towards the hunt. Myriel was on the creatures back legs snapping and biting, she darted away when it gave a sharp kick. The other two wolves herded it forward keeping the buck on a forward path. This was no easy prey they had singled out a sick but young buck. His antlers huge and dangerous on his head. Phallen and Gabriel felt the hunter's excitement this was it. Finally ready, Gabe and Paul leaped from their positions causing the buck to stop short. The wolves had it surrounded.
Side by side father and son approached the buck, the other wolves kept it where it would keep it's attention on them instead of the bigger wolves around it. It swung its antlers towards the beta female of the pack and Gabe took his chance. He leaped on to the elks shoulder and bit greedily into his neck. He tasted blood and the hunter's rage over took him, he snarled just as he felt his father on the other side. Together the two wolves held the buck down. It gasped a last breath and the big wolves ripped its throat out.
There was a feast. The Alphas ate and then the betas and then Gabriel. He relished the taste of the meat and then a roar stopped him before he had at his fill. One ear turned to the side towards the noise and his nose followed until he saw what had caused the noise and he crouched down tucked his tail and ears. The wolf pack surrounded their meal and snarled, he joined but he was sure a grizzle awoken from it's winter solace would not be happen, and it found easy prey. His heart thundered and this time it was out of fear instead of excitement.
"ATTACK!" his father shouted and the wolves started forward. Myriel quickly leaped to the side and lunged herself at the bear swinging paw. The deranged animal came forward with froth coming from it's mouth, it batted Myriel into a tree with a sickening crack before continuing on to the meat. The bear was blood lusted.
His father lunged to avenge his fallen mate and Gabe saw that his father was batted away just as easily and this time the bear took the chance to grab the large wolf and bite into his throat. Finally Gabriel lunged forward and found his teeth digging into the bears leg. He tasted blood and started to shake with feriocious snarls. The beta leaped at the bears throat and his mate the bears side. The maddened animal swatted at the wolves. The dodged and leaped away and Gabriel was sent flying into the bushes his ear was torn and bleeding. His head hit a rock and the last thing he saw was his mother creeping behind the wolf while the beta pair were fighting the front.
The Happy World Removed
He awoke, and he was alone. The bear lay dead so did his pack mates. He struggled to sit up, his head throbbed and yet he had to see if his father and mother were ok. He whimpered slightly. He walked carefully and nosed his father's fur. There was no life, his father's throat was torn out. Gabriel would mourn later his mother was alive the last he remembered. He walked to the beta pair and saw they weren't breathing either. His heart was sinking, he felt bile come to his throat, all this over a dead elk?
Where was his mother? He saw a trail of blood leading towards a bush. It smelled like her. He padded forward. Carefully. The bush moved and he about jumped out of his skin. A bloodied muzzle appeared and he saw his mother. He yelped happily but she charged out of the bushes with a snarl, he stopped dead. "Mom?"
She stopped and turned her head slightly. He saw one of her eyes was ripped out and she was bleeding from her stomach. The wound was fatal. "Gabe? Oh son come here, love." she whimpered and fell to the ground in a heap.
He dashed forward, wishing he knew what to do to help. How could this happen? Why to him and his family? "Son it's ok, things like this happen. You're not hurt badly. The ear will heal ok?"
She pressed her nose to his fur and he layed down licking her forhead frantically. 'No no no no no no no. . . .' was his only thought. "Please . . . mom . . . don't. . . ." he said between licks.
"Son, this is life, a small pack like ours wouldn't have lasted. Take more than six wolves to take down a blood lusted bear," she took in a deep rattled breath and Gabe licked harder as if his licking her would keep her there with him.
"It's ok twelve wolves would have taken the bear, only six no, son go, go find your sister. She should be home before dark. There are bears out. You need to go to some place safe, one bear might attract another and . . ." she gasped again not making any sense, "I hear your father calling me, he wants me to join him. Go son, go live and we shall meet again. . . . Good bye, I love you."
She shuddered her breath and Gabriel's wounded cry turned into a howl. It stretched over the lands. It would call any wolf there but it would also let them know that he was mourning his loses. He layed there whimpering and howling for hours. Mourning his lose but knowing he had to leave. Instinct would have him find another pack and he would. He turned but before he left, he attacked the bears throat ripping it out. Making sure the damned beast was dead. No longer to rise again and destroy another happy family.
3 years later
Years passed and Gabriel had hopped from pack to pack. He found his sister and her mate they were content in their life but their alpha took pity on them and he learned more from them. He left their pack in a year and moved forward. Trying to make his own way, maybe he could maybe he wouldn't. Either or he would try. Two years later he was searching for a pack again. He wanted a mate, a few pups, and he would find them soon. He could feel it in his heart. He was a wolf and he was strong. Stronger than he was when he and his family had fought the bear. Still he had a hardened heart and he shut down whenever he was to bring up his past. He worked silently in packs and never challenged a beast. They challenged him and he put them in their place.
With a hard memory in his head but an instinct imbedded in his heart he travels on hoping to find a more permanent home.

Gabriel smiled. They were laughing and he was glad she was enjoying listening about his family. Good, good very good. He tuned in fully when it was her turn to talk. Then his heart stopped at her next words.
"I have someone I'm really close to. Colette Richards. She's my cousin and she is the founder of all the mutant schools here in New York." She stopped herself and covered her mouth. "I don't think I'm supposed to tell anyone that." She raised her brows. "But I mean you told me all about your family so I can trust you..." She winked at him. "I suppose." She smirked.
He turned his computer around and let her see the application to be a teacher's assistant at one of the houses. He gave a happy grin, "you can def trust me, yeah. You can't spill a secret without earning one. The twins, they are showing signs of becoming mutants. That's the reason they are coming to stay with me. And I'd rather be the one able to help them control themselves."
He held the computer open long enough for her to get a good look at his resume before turning it around saving his document and then shutting it off. He then turned his full attention to the woman in from of him fully.
"Y' know I know a great bar that’s around. It's pretty cozy." She paused. "Do cajuns like you drink?" She raised a brow licking her lips.
She was asking him out? Wait a minutes, his eyes darkened for a minute. He might be a good man, but he was still a man. He hoped she wasn't a slutty kind of girl. He didn't do sluts went against his morals and what not. Still being a man he had a small image flash of them inbetween the sheets and he cleared his throat and downed the last of his coffee in one gulp, clearing his head as well. He was glad he was a good man, even if he was still a man, "Sweetie being cajun, we DO drink, we DON'T get drunk, us. And all we want to do if feed you good food and get you drunk."
The grin fell and he really leaned forward and in his soft cajun voice he whispered so the eyes that sometimes peered at him and his beautiful partner couldn't hear, "sweetheart take me where ever your heart desires and I'll follow you there, me."
Was it cheesy yes, was it cute, he sure as hell hoped so.
