Hey everyone! We've just opened our doors to registration, making this out Grand Opening. I'd like to take the chance to point out the site suggestion board. It's there for a reason! I'm not omnipotent, and I'm sure there's a thing or two we could use that I've forgotten. Also! Staff and Rank auditions are open. There's no deadline yet, but ranks will be filled as they're needed, so don't procrastinate. Also on the way: the Karma Shop, and some contests to help you earn paragon points. I'm really proud of the plot and site construction here, but it needs some amazing members to fill it up and make it great. Let's roll!

It is currently early summer.
The skies are clear and prey is plentiful. In the lowlands, temperatures may reach 80° , low of 50° Fahrenheit. In mountains, the daily high can reach 75°, but nights still plummet into the 30's. Several days of clear skies are often broken by occasional summer thunderstorms.

Welcome to Valhalla's Fallen!
OOC News - Don't forget to make your nominations for the monthly spotlight here. Also, remember to click on our topsite listings daily to vote for us - let's tray and up our rankings! I'm really proud of what we've accomplished so far. Rank auditions will conclude shortly, after which I encourage each pack's leader to hold a pack meeting or devise some other method of giving out ranks.
IC News - The Njal pack is being lead by the young but determined albino fea, Valkyri. She's kept her pack's tradition of strength and independence from the gods, but her pack is small. Meanwhile, the larger Eyrie pack is without a leader, causing several wolves to vie for the position. Who will prevail?
Welcome wanderer, to the land of Myddgard. Valhalla's Fallen is a wolf/avian roleplay based loosely on Norse Mythology. The world of Myddgard was torn for generations by a war, each pack following a different set of deities. Things changed when Fenrir, leader of Njal, declared the gods to be false myths, and led both backs to creat a pact of peace between them. This marked the beginning of the second age. Now, two generations after Fenrir's declaration, the gods have yet to prove their existence. An uneasy peace lies over the lands, but new tensions are appearing - whether to believe in the gods, whether to follow the pact, and the purpose of the packs in the new age all cause uncertainty among the wolves.
What's more, a new threat lies on the horizon - strange mutations and powers are set to begin appearing in the wolves, and the birds of the skies will take a new interest in their canine brethren. Do the gods truly exist? Will they seek retribution against their lost followers? The wolves of Myddgard are fallen from Valhalla, and they are free....

Hey! I'm Bassie, sometimes called Deep or Eppeh. I'm the admin around here - I created VF because I love wolf roleplay and have a fascination with mythology. Norse just seemed to fit, and besides - it's hella cool. I designed the site and it's graphics as well. When I'm not roleplaying, I love to be outdoors hiking or camping, and taking photos. When I'm stuck indoors, I love art, reading, writing, playing musics (I am a band nerd!) and sci fi shows. I'm a college student studying psychology. And erm... I live in a house with 8 other crazy, nerdy college students. We build rockets sometimes. SCIENCE! If you're new and have any questions, or need someone to roleplay with, shoot me a PM!

The Slate Written in stone are the laws of Myddgard. Learn them well.
Here you can find the rules of the site, as well as it's history, and important information. This is the place to start if you're new around here. Moderator: Bassie
Incognito This is the secret staffy hang out. Codes and such are stored here, and staffy discussions take place as well. It's like a secret tree house!
Pending And there they waited, each of them, to be given the breath of life....
Post here when you're ready to make a character. Make sure to keep [WIP] or something similar in the title until you're finished.
Once you're done, wait for a staff member to review your character's profile. If accepted, it will be moved to "existing". Moderators: Bassie, Peach, xx !kumori, halfwit
Valley of the Clouds This valley lies surround by rugged terrain, but here, the land is lush and kind. Ferns cover the floor, and many types of trees crowd the slopes. Clouds and mist settle here from the highlands, meaning it is nearly always cool and temperate here. When the sun does break through, it brings the landscape alive with light. In the spring and summer, alpine wildflowers are stunningly abundant. Moderators: Peach, RyeRunner
Bjorn's Pass Bjorn's Pass isn't the only way into the mountains the Eyrie call home, but it's certainly the only safe route (relatively speaking anyway).
This gorge cuts into the roots of the mountains - its sides are steep, and the terrain is rugged, but here, at least, is a path.
Those straying from this route who do not know the landscape most often become lost or fall victim to injury and exposure. Moderators: Peach, RyeRunner
Fleet River - Headwaters Precipitation and snowmelt sent a multitude of small streams flowing from the mountains. These combine to form the Fleet River - the ribbon that winds through Myddgard.
Here the water is fast, and the river is shallow in most places, occasionally turning to rapids as it makes its way down. Stretches are dangerous, but others are relatively calm, and an excellent place to fish or relax. Moderators: Peach, RyeRunner
Snowhall Crags These peaks rise like hungry teeth from the landscape, tearing into the sky. They are the ruggedest section of mountains in Myddgard, and they form a strong defensive barrier between the Eyrie's home and the rest of the lands. Snow and strong winds are common, and the tops of these peaks are perpetually frozen, even in summer. Climb carefully. Moderators: Peach, RyeRunner
It is a strange, bowl like structure carved into the granite. Hotsprings have carved a myriad of caves into the stone, leaving tunnels and caverns for the Eyrie.
Some have small rivers in them, others have been dry for generations. Welcome to the heart of the Eyrie pack. Moderators: Peach, RyeRunner
Tyr's Knoll This knoll rises out of the Njal lands, covered by a soft grass. It's rumored to be the best place in all of Myddgard to view the stars - millions beyond count spread themselves across the sky here.
This is a common place to come for peace, guidance, reflection, or warm company. Moderators: rayn, Peach
Fleet Delta The Fleet River spreads into a delta here, a myriad of small streams and estuaries making this land some of the most fertile in all of Myddgard. The land here is flat with few trees, but many grasses, birds, and prey. High winds racing across the flats are common during bad weather and in the summer thunderstorms and monsoons can make the area a temporary floodzone. Moderators: Peach, rayn
Jantavi Gorge The ages have eroded away the land here until a labyrinth-like series of canyons were carved out. Those who don't know their way here can be lost easily.
Beware flash flooding in the event of rain. Moderators: rayn, Peach
Standing Stones - Dens The Njal pack makes their dens amongst these strange stones - jutting from the earth at odd angles, they create well-sheltered hollows and excellent places to lie.
Over the generations, the Njal have dug out numerous dens and carved out paths through the area, making it somewhere they can call home. Moderators: rayn, Peach
Yggdrasil, the World Tree Yggdrasil is located in the center of Myddgard. It was once thought to connect all of the worlds - mortals, gods, underworld, and worlds unknown.
The tree was highly fought over in times of war as holy ground. Now it is neutral, and still holds great importance for both packs. This is a place of peace, where the pact was first lied down, and it is where alphas can meet to discuss things. The penalty for fighting at this place is death in either pack. Moderators: Peach, Credo.degli.Assassini ♫
The Wash The Fleet River flows through the freelands, running wide and shallow over stones in this section. The shores and river alike are littered with smooth gravel, and the water is hardly deeper than mid-leg in the deepest spots.
This is the traditional battle field for rank battles from either pack - whoever is chosen to judge can survey the entire area from the knoll above. Moderators: Peach, Credo.degli.Assassini ♫
Freya's Meadows Soft grasses stretches as far as the eye can see here, interspersed with wildflowers during the spring and summer. Small creeks, tributaries of the Fleet River, are found here and there between the gently rolling hills. Small prey is plentiful, such as rabbits and hares, making this a popular place for loners and pack wolves alike. Moderators: Peach, Credo.degli.Assassini ♫
Edge of the World - Coastline The coast stretches on as far as the eye can see, often swathed in mist. There are wide swaths of soft sand, as well as rocky patches, and even towering cliffs.
The coastline is bordered by temperate pine forests, and sometimes dunes or coastal grasslands can be found in some locations. Moderators: Peach, Credo.degli.Assassini ♫
